about
hi, i’m forest chaffee (they/them.) i grew up with wampanoag land and ocean (cape cod, ma) close with marsh, tides, animals, and my dear ones. my bachelors & masters degrees in architecture focused on sacred space and social spaces that nurture diversity and well-being for all.
i helped create a literacy center with the northern cheyenne tribe in montana. i worked with community in rural alabama to hear people’s voices and create a community space together. i worked in minimalist architecture in nyc for 7 years followed by 13 years of intensive training and sharing interpersonal neurobiology, somatic depth empathy, systems healing, and trauma integration, mostly in the pacific northwest. during this time i created an empathy & photography story series honoring our wholeness.
i help people experience life beyond binaries so they can integrate, embody, and live their wholeness. i am the founder of empathy stories which helps orgs building social equity + environmental regeneration to convey their systemic impact clearly. you can check out more of my projects below. feel free to check out some of my art + sculpture below. if you’d like to explore “being with” together please fill out the “connect” form on the home page.
warmth and gratitude,
forest
